About Courtown
Courtown is a Blue Flag beach resort that nature has endowed with many splendid beaches. It was originally a thriving fishing village, taking its origins back the time of the famine when the Courtown family commissioned the building of the Harbour as part of famine relief work in 1847. Though Courtown Harbour itself still retains its old world charm and natural beauty, it is today a very modern resort with all amenities.
Courtown enjoys some of the best weather in Ireland. It is reputed to have one of the lowest annual rainfalls in the country!
