Bike
The cycle course for the Long & Middle distance is on closed fast roads.
Olympic & Sprint distance; half the route is on a closed road. The second half of the cycle is on a quiet main road with a hard shoulder (left turns only on the route).

From transition - All distances
- Exit Transition and take a right followed by immediate left.
- Followed by a quick right on to the R742 leading up the hill and out of Courtown.
- Continue as far as the Courtown Roundabout and take the first left.
- Continue up to the second roundabout and take the second left crossing over the N11 to the third roundabout (Exit 23)*.
- Cross the N11 over the flyover and upon reaching the roundabout take the second exit.
- Continue down the hill to the Courtown roundabout.
- Take the third exit off the Courtown roundabout and continue back to Courtown Harbour.
On the N11 Bypass - Long & Middle Distance
At the third roundabout
- Take the third exit off the roundabout down onto the Northbound lane of the N11 Dual Carriageway.
- Proceed north (towards Arklow) cycling on the left hand side.
- Before the Arklow South turnoff cyclists will turn around.
- From here they will proceed straight to the Clough Roundabout along the Dual Carriageway.
- Turn around before the Clough Roundabout and continue back cycling on the left hand side of the Dual Carriageway.
- Full Distance cyclists will do this 4 times. Half distance cyclists will do it twice.
- Once complete take the slip road back up to Exit 23 from Clough Roundabout. Take the third exit.
Olympic Distance: On the N11 Bypass (closed) to R772 & R742 (not closed)
- Take the third exit off the roundabout down onto the Northbound lane of the N11 dual carriageway.
- Proceed north (towards Arklow) cycling on the left hand side.
- When you reach the turnaround cone at Arklow South for Long & Middle you will continue down the slip road to the Arklow Sth roundabout.
- From here you will take a left turn onto the R772 (old Arklow Gorey road)
- Cycling in the hard shoulder will bring you back to Gorey. At the Coach road take a left onto the R742. Go straight through the roundabout through the second roundabout and then directly into Courtown.
Sprint Distance: On the N11 Bypass (closed) to R772 & R742 (not closed)
- Take the third exit off the roundabout down onto the Northbound lane of the N11 dual carriageway.
- Proceed north (towards Arklow) cycling on the left hand side.
- When you reach Exit 22 (Inch) you will take this exit up the slip road. From here you will take the first left off the roundabout onto the R772.
- Cycling in the hard shoulder will bring you back to Gorey. At the Coach Road take a left onto the R742. Go straight through the roundabout through the second roundabout and then directly into Courtown.
Back to Courtown – all distances
- Cross the N11 over the flyover and upon reaching the Roundabout take the second exit.
- Continue down the hill to the Courtown Roundabout.
- Take the third exit off the Courtown roundabout and continue back to Courtown Harbour.
Note that
- Distance from Transition to N11 Dual Carriageway is 2 x 5.5km.
- Each lap for Long & Middle distance is 42.25km
- There will be 2 Aid stations on the Bike course (see map). Note: Sprint & Olympic distance will not have access to the Bike aid station
- It is your responsibility to do the required number of laps.
- The course is within WTC allowed 5% tolerance.
